It has been my prayer for a while now to begin a bible study that people could participate in without too much intrusion into their daily lives. Let's face it, if it becomes a burden to do, how many of us are going to stick with it? Well, today a light went on! I feel as though I've been given a little nudge from the heavenly
Father Himself! Why not begin a blog that would let people participate in a bible study and share thoughts that everyone could learn from, all while on their own time? That is how this blog bible study has come into existence. It is my hope that each of you that visits and, certainly any of you who remain and participate will be enlightened and blessed. It is my prayer that through serious study that we all will come away with a heightened sense of reality and truth where the bible is concerned. I hope that everyone who participates will lift the other participants up in prayer as they study as well. Finally, it is my prayer that this blog will bless each of you beyond measure and that Christ will become more real and more present each and every day for you.
MATERIALS: I feel compelled to begin this study with a very well-known Beth Moore study series, Living Beyond Yourself: Exploring The Fruit Of The Spirit. You can purchase this book for about $15 in any bible or bookstore.
FORMAT: This book is set up as a weekly bible study with 5 lessons per week. However, due to the "at-your-own-pace" format that I propose, it will not be necessary to do a lesson a day, although you can if you like. You will do what you can when you can. I plan on setting up this particular study so that each daily lesson can be answered in discussion format. For instance, blog entry #1 will be titled "Free at last - Many Hardships". This can be a very brief or detailed entry, depending on each person's insights. We can also use this as a forum to ask questions of each other on items we aren't sure about. I also feel that this format will allow everyone to remain on the same footing and no one will get lost. Hopefully also an individual can join in and post answers to questions if they have just joined even if others are further along in the study. And best of all, if someone gets super enthusiastic, they can progress at their own pace. They just have to create a new entry. So please use this as the tool it was intended to be and have fun. But most of all let's learn and come out on the other side of this better Christians for our efforts!
